For the Maple Pancakes:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup maple syrup or maple crystals (for that signature McGriddle flavor)
For the Filling:
- 3 sausage patties (or bacon strips)
- 3 eggs
- 3 slices of American cheese
Tools Needed:
- Round pancake molds or mason jar lids
- Griddle or nonstick skillet
- Whisk, spatula, and mixing bowls
Instructions
1. Make the Maple Pancakes
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until smooth.
- Heat a lightly greased griddle or nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Pour ¼ cup of batter into pancake molds, then sprinkle maple crystals onto each pancake before flipping.
- Cook for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
2. Cook the Sausage and Eggs
- Cook the sausage patties in a skillet over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side.
- Crack eggs into a round mold to achieve the perfect shape.
- Cook the eggs over-easy, scrambled, or sunny-side up, based on preference.
3. Assemble the McGriddle
- Place one pancake on a plate.
- Add a sausage patty, a slice of cheese, and an egg.
- Top with another pancake and gently press down.
- Serve immediately or wrap for meal prep.
